4K Care

Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, Smarty Pants Learning Center will be a comprehensive 4k class completely free of tuition, registration fees, and material fees.

What is 4K?

Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, Smarty Pants Learning Center will be a comprehensive 4k class completely free of tuition, registration fees, and material fees.

  • Classes will be held Monday - Friday from Labor Day (September 8th) to June 4th.

  • Classroom Sessions:

    • Morning Class 8:00 am - 11:30 am

    • Afternoon Class 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm

  • A full 4k classroom will have two teachers in the class, a lead teacher and assistant teacher.

  • The class size is limited to 19 students per session.

  • Due to state requirements, students must be 4 years old on or before September 1st, 2026 to participate in 4k.

  • Completely on site at Smarty Pants Learning Center, full day options available with wrap around care on site at Smarty Pants.

  • The curriculum for 4k at Smarty Pants will follow a similar curriculum of the School District of New Berlin and Muskego Schools. Curriculum will follow Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS), the same standards that public schools across the state are required to follow. Additionally, our curriculum will go through a strong vetting process that must be approved by the state.

  • The intent of the 4k class at Smarty Pants Learning Center is to be a full kindergarten readiness program. The curriculum is carefully designed by Ms. Lauren with support of staff members from surrounding school districts.

What is Wrap Around Care?

Wrap around care at Smarty Pants Learning Center will continue the center's theme of play based learning in a small group setting. Wrap around will be held in the gym area where each child will continue their skills in social interaction, gross and fine motor skills, exploration, & cooperative play

  • Wrap Around Care will be held Monday - Friday during 4k class days. If 4k and Wrap Around are both with Smarty Pants, Lunch will be provided.

  • Classroom Sessions:

    • Morning Wrap Around care will be provided for students in afternoon 4k

    • Afternoon Wrap Around care will be provided for students in morning 4k

  • The class size is limited to 20 students per session.

  • Tuition for Wrap Around Care can be found in the tuition section of this information packet. Tuition will be the same as the YMCA’s Wrap Around tuition for the School District of New Berlin. If you attend 4k with Smarty Pants and wrap around care with Smarty Pants, you will receive a 10% tuition discount.

  • If you attend 4k with the School District of New Berlin, transportation will be provided as the bus route for the district will take children to and from Smarty Pants and either Ronald Reagan or Elmwood Elementary Schools

4k Kindergarten Prep at Smarty Pants with 4k at the School District of New Berlin

Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, if you plan on attending 4k with the school district, you can still attend 4k at Smarty Pants 100% free in the opposite session of your school district class session.

  • Transportation will be provided the same as wrap around care with Ronald Reagan & Elmwood Elementary School’s being on the bus route with Smarty Pants.

  • Classes will be held Monday - Friday from Labor Day (September 8th) to June 4th

  • Classroom Sessions: (would be opposite of your District Session)

    • Morning Class 8:00 am - 11:30 am

    • Afternoon Class 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Why 4k & Wrap Around at Smarty Pants?

  • If you have more than one child with Smarty Pants Learning Center, all of your children will be in one safe place making it easier to drop off and pick up all of your children!

  • 4k at Smarty Pants will follow the same standards as the school districts by following the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards.

  • 4k curriculum fully designed by Ms. Lauren, who has bachelors degrees in Elementary & Early Childhood Education, and has multiple years of experience working at the elementary school level.

  • 4k at Smarty Pants will 100% free tuition, with no registration fees or material fees

  • Lunch and two snacks are included if 4k and Wrap Around Care are attended at Smarty Pants

  • Individualized learning environment with class sizes capped at 19 students with two teachers.

  • Procare App will be used in the classroom so you will see your child’s progress on a daily basis

  • A full 4k classroom will have two teachers in every class, a lead teacher and assistant teacher. A classroom that is not completely full, we will still have support staff ready to help if needed.

  • Completely on site at Smarty Pants Learning Center, full day options available with wrap around care on site at Smarty Pants.

Schedule

  • 4k and Wrap Around Care for the 2026-2027 school year will run from September 8th (Labor Day) to June 4th

  • 4k AM Class: 8:00 am - 11:30 am

  • 4k PM Class: 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm

  • Wrap Around Care AM Class: 7:00 am - 12:00 pm

  • Wrap Around Care PM Class: 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

    • **Class will not be held when the rest of the center is closed**

    • **Bussing from SDNB for wrap around care, will not be available when SDNB is closed**

    • School Age Summer Camp will begin June 7th, 2027
